Revelyst

This page documents some of the corporate communications work I’ve completed over the past five years for Revelyst, the parent company of several dozen outdoor brands. Formerly known as Vista Outdoor, Revelyst is a billion-dollar company with about 1,500 employees. I’m the sole member of the company's communications department and responsible for almost everything we publish internally and externally. Learn more on my résumé.

Below are samples from work I’ve done on external comms (press releases), executive comms (CEO memos), and internal comms (company intranet). I can share additional stories and examples upon request.

Press Releases

As Corporate Communications Manager for Revelyst, I manage our entire external relations strategy, including the writing, editing, and publishing of our press releases. Below are several from the past year that I wrote.

Executive Communications

Every week, I write our company’s CEO memo, dubbed “Nyman’s Notes” for our CEO Eric Nyman. Writing something new and compelling every week isn’t an easy task, but over the past two years I’ve enjoyed getting to know the CEO’s voice, learning all the ins and outs of the company, and working hard to strike the right balance of cheerleading about the business while also telling employees exactly what’s happening—whether good or bad.

Internal Communications Features

I run Revelyst’s intranet page, which we call the “DragonFlyer” (our mascot/logo is a dragonfly). As the editor-in-chief of the DragonFlyer, I either write or edit every internal comms feature that’s posted to the site. I’ve linked below three samples of stories I’ve written over the past year. There are many, many more I could share, and I'd be happy to provide more, but this should give a sense of my style and approach to internal comms.
